Elephant Pharmacy

This project involved the extensive renovation of 15,700 square foot commercial space located in Berkeley along a main corridor. The original building had been neglected for years and came to the new pharmacy tenant in a state of disrepair, with a poor relationship to the street and surrounding neighborhood. The renovation included removing a false façade and exposing the building’s original 1940’s roofline. The new design also included changing the window treatment along the busy street by opening up the wall for greater transparency between inside and outside. In addition to an entry from the sidewalk for foot traffic, entries were added through patio and trellis extensions of the building connected to the side parking areas.
