Providence Pavilion
Location: Oakland, CA
Owner: Alta Bates Summit Medical Center
Completion: 2004
Our firm worked with Alta Bates Summit Medical Center to explore opportunities for Providence Pavilion, an underutilized building on their campus constructed in 1978. It was originally designed and used as an acute care hospital for 20 years.
We reviewed current services provided at the Pavilion and mapped their use for analysis and discussion with administration. As a result of our analysis, it was determined that the Pavilion was best suited to house outpatient services, setting the stage for future growth of the Medical Center. For example, the plan included consolidation of three diagnostic departments – radiology, oncology, and breast health – moving them from their former location to the Pavilion.
