Ashby Lofts

This new five-story building consists of commercial space on the ground floor, with 54 units of affordable housing on the upper levels. This family housing project will include a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units located in several buildings to give each unit windows on two sides. Buildings are organized around three courtyards, and common areas include a community room, laundry, computer room, and playground. The project includes several sustainable design features, including photo-voltaic and hot water solar systems on the roof to provide electricity and heat water, as well as extensive use of sun shades for west-facing units to avoid excessive cooling costs.
