8th Street Housing

This residential project consists of four dwelling units housed in two buildings. Each unit is 1100 to 1200 sq ft and includes garage parking. The two buildings share a common courtyard and backyard. Third-story setbacks at the front and back of the building increase light to the units and neighboring buildings and soften the impact on the streetscape. The detailing harmonizes with the residential and industrial character of the neighborhood. Large windows, flat roofs, and the off-white corrugated metal siding are meant to emulate the light industrial feel. The setbacks, wood screens, and other wood elements contribute a more residential scale and feel to the buildings.
