Dorris-Eaton School

Dorris-Eaton, a 60 year-old private school with a strong academic reputation, was in search of a new home. They found it at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon in a building that previously held corporate offices, and was large enough to fit the school’s 320 students along with 42 employees.

The new 40,000 square foot elementary and junior high campus houses spacious classrooms, a library, two multipurpose rooms, a technology lab, and an outside children’s play area. The first floor contains classrooms, offices, a multipurpose room, and dining area. The second floor has more classrooms, offices, a reading room, main reception, teacher’s lounge, and library. There were no exterior modifications however; the interior was reconfigured to meet the school’s program and specific spatial needs.

This project was completed within a very short timeline, with the design phase beginning in January 2015 and construction being completed by August 2015, just in time for the new school year.
