Our most complex project for the Alta Bates campus was planning the renovation of their busy Emergency Department to double its capacity, accommodating 45,000 annual patient visits. We worked with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the renovated Emergency Department would address patient satisfaction, operational efficiencies, and functional physical design, including the requirement to facilitate inter-departmental relationships with radiology, cardiology, and the laboratory. The design includes 25 treatment and resuscitation rooms, as well as a 10-bed Quick Care Suite and radiology room.

The plan also included careful construction staging so that emergency services could continue during construction.
